Speaking
Over the years Bill has spoken to groups ranging in size from 2 to 20,000, in age from pre-schoolers to senior adults, in ministries from discussion groups to national conferences, and in settings that have included churches of all sizes (shapes and colors), schools, colleges, camps, amusement parks, theaters, convention and civic centers, campfires, hotel ballrooms, conference centers, football fields, gyms, ice skating rinks, arenas, houses, tropical paradises, and backyards.
As a speaker, Bill:
• Knows a lot but doesn’t pretend to know it all
• Tells meaningfully good stories
• Doesn’t yell a lot
• Is humorous
• And serious
• Is willing to wear a coat and tie if needed
• Takes the Bible seriously
• Doesn’t take himself too seriously
• Cares about being biblically and theologically sound
• Cares about people
• Care about the mission of where he is speaking
• Thinks it’s important to be authentic
• Wants to help people follow Christ
• Wants to see lives changed
• Doesn’t want to manipulate
• Depends on and trusts God
• Doesn’t try to imitate more famous preachers
• Tries hard not to be proud of his humility
• Considers it a privilege to speak to any group
• Considers speaking a major responsibilty
• Doesn’t take that responsibility lightly
• Isn’t bound to always do things the same way
If that list hasn’t scared you off, there’s a good chance that Bill would love to speak at your church, conference, retreat, banquet… Feel free to let us know what you have in mind.
